OLCC Hemp Product Approval

OLCC Hemp Product Approval

OLCC Hemp Product Approval Process – The Oregon Liquor Control Commission has created an approval process for hemp and hemp products to enter the OLCC licensed marijuana program.

The administrative process was crafted after the Commission recently adopted rules regulating hemp in the OLCC system; the rules took effect December 28, 2017.

The OLCC has created a separate section on its Recreational Marijuana website about the Hemp program where information about this new process can be found.

There are separate requirements for Oregon Department of Agriculture approved hemp producers and handlers (processors) and OLCC licensed marijuana processors.

ODA producers and handlers, who want to sell hemp and hemp products into the OLCC market, will need to obtain an Industrial Hemp Certificate.  Step-by-step instructions on how to obtain the certificate can be found here.

OLCC processors, who want to process hemp or hemp products, are required to obtain an Industrial Hemp Endorsement.  Step-by-step instructions on how to obtain the endorsement can be found here.

The required forms can be found on the Hemp page and the Forms & Publications page of the OLCC website.

A downloadable FAQ document about this new process can be found on the Hemp page; additional hemp FAQs can be found on the OLCC’s Marijuana Program FAQ page.
