Founded in 2010 by Ras Kaya Paul, Pacific Northwest Roots emerged as a pioneering force within the cannabis industry’s top hash producers, initially navigating the landscape of the Washington medical market. Ras Kaya Paul, already recognized for his prowess in acquiring elite genetics and cultivating specialty flowers, identified a unique niche for the PNW Roots brand as a trailblazing hash-maker with elite rosin in a market accustomed to subpar quality. While Pacific Northwest Roots has gained renowned recognition for its in-house genetics, it is the exceptional quality of the hash that has firmly positioned the brand as a standout player in the Washington State cannabis market.

Kaya was born and raised on the Kitsap Peninsula just outside of Seattle, and started working with the plant in the mid 90’s while attending college up near the Canadian border. He grew his passion and knowledge into a successful growing and breeding enterprise, pioneering some of the first brick-mortar collectives in Washington and developing genetics that are now known across the country, such as Kaya’s Koffee. Today, Kaya uses a Hashtek 65t to create his award-winning six star full-melt.

Beyond regional success, Pacific Northwest Roots has cultivated a national presence, with their genetics reaching across the entire country.
