Azatrol Hydro Botanical Insecticide - Bulletin No 17-02

Marijuana Producers, Processors, and Retailers. Date: July 27, 2017 Until further notice, Azatrol Hydro Botanical Insecticide (EPA Reg. No. 2217-836) and Gordon’s Professional Turf & Ornamental Products Azatrol EC Insecticide (EPA Reg. No. 2217-836) are no longer allowed for use on marijuana in Washington. Information received from the Oregon Department of Agriculture, and subsequent analysis of these pesticide products by the Washington State Department of Agriculture, indicates that these products contain undisclosed pesticide ingredients not allowed for use on marijuana in Washington. WSDA is issuing a statewide stop sale, use or removal order for these products in Washington. Pesticide ingredients that are not allowed for use on marijuana could result in the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board confiscating and destroying marijuana if they are found on products above the adopted action levels. In addition, pesticide ingredients that are not allowed for use on marijuana could cause marijuana to fail the Washington State Department of Health pesticide testing requirements for compliant marijuana products. WSDA has updated the allowed pesticides list, and will be working with the registrant to resolve this issue. WSLCB will provide the updated list to licensed producers as soon as it is available. The PICOL database will be updated to reflect this change. Action Required

Producers

  1. Immediately discontinue use of these products and remove these products from the licensed premises

  2. Advise all processors to whom you have sold marijuana treated with these products that the marijuana may have been treated with pesticide ingredients that are not allowed
