Cannabis Brand Licensing
icensing your cannabis brand in States where you do not have operations is complex and varies on what can be allowed. Based on how the laws are set up from state to state, licensing continues to be extremely challenging for companies looking to expand into new markets. Over the years we’ve worked with multiple groups in medical cannabis and adult use marijuana States. These brands have been able to increase their market share by expanding within their State or into other States.
Cannabis brand licensing requires an experienced group of individuals, with an even more experienced legal team. Whether looking for a referral to a legal team or a licensee looking for a brand to partner with, we generally can assist. We have an extensive network and wide range of relationships that can help you expedite the process no matter what stage you are in.
Each project is unique as well as each State implementing cannabis regulations, you’ll want to check with them to see what is required and allowed for your cannabis business.

What is Brand Licensing or simply Licensing?
A written contract under which the owner of a copyright, know how, patent, servicemark, trademark, or other intellectual property, allows a licensee to use, make, or sell copies of the original. Such agreements usually limit the scope or field of the licensee, and specify whether the license is exclusive or non-exclusive, and whether the licensee will pay royalties or some other consideration in exchange. While licensing agreements are mainly used in commercialization of a technology, they are also used by franchisers to promote sales of goods and services.
