Emergency Rules

Following are emergency rules sent to you on behalf of the State Building Code Council (SBCC) regarding Marijuana Processing and Extraction Facilities. The rules will take effect July 1, 2015 for 120 days, and can be renewed by additional SBCC action (emergency rules are needed until the permanent rules take effect).

Please note, these rules will be incorporated into the rulemaking for adoption of the 2015 Fire Code.

That process is currently underway, and will include public hearings in September and October. Once the rules become permanent, they would be implemented by July 1, 2016.
